VaporVault Node — The Shared Vault

ree

So… remember how I said VaporVault was an offline, personal password vault? Yeah — about that.

Apparently, it’s also a collaboration tool now. I didn’t plan this, but the Node firmware kind of turned into something way cooler than I expected.

The Idea

The standard VaporVault is totally offline — your private Wi-Fi network, your private data. But then I thought, what if a small team or family could share one safely?

So I built VaporVault Node.

It runs the same hardware, same board, same core firmware. The only difference? This one connects to your existing Wi-Fi network instead of creating its own. That means anyone on the same network can access it — securely — through a browser. You can even PIN-protect access if you want to keep it semi-private.

Why It’s Cool

ree

You can flash between the classic Vault and the Node firmware straight from my site. One device, two personalities — offline vault or shared info hub.

In Node mode, you get:

  • Three text tabs for team notes, schedules, or quick instructions.

  • Two YouTube embed slots, which is way more fun than I expected.

I have one video set to our group’s productivity playlist (lo-fi beats, obviously) and another for quick onboarding info. It’s like an ad hoc digital bulletin board — everyone connects, gets the info, hits play, and we’re all working to the same rhythm.

What It’s For

  • Small teams who just need a quick internal dashboard.

  • Families who want one shared access point for passwords, Wi-Fi info, or notes.

  • Makers or field teams who want an always-available local page for instructions, tools, or playlists.

  • Or honestly, anyone who just wants to experiment with what local networking can feel like when it’s simple and private.

No apps. No logins. No account permissions.Just turn it on, and it quietly becomes part of your environment.

Interchangeable by Design

Both firmwares — Vault and Node — are interchangeable. You can flash between them anytime on my firmware page. Your data stays persistent, your layout stays the same, and your vault keeps evolving however you want it to.

VaporVault Node. Your local network, now personal.
