Firmware

Your Beacon device can be used as either a Beacon Signal or a Beacon Node — the hardware is identical, and you can switch between the two at any time simply by flashing the corresponding firmware.

 

This gives you the flexibility to use your Beacon as a personal, ad-hoc device (Signal mode) or as a network-connected information server (Node mode).

 

Please note that flashing either firmware — even reinstalling the same one — will completely reset the device to factory settings for that mode. Any customizations, images, text, links, or configuration data stored on your Beacon will be erased. After flashing, your device will boot up with clean default settings for the firmware version you selected.
