Intelligence, Infrastructure, and the Space Between

I’ve always been a hands-on kind of guy. I like to understand how things actually work—from the power that drives the servers to the AI models running on them, and the capital that fuels it all. The truth is, to build what I want to build in this space, I needed to get my hands around the entire stack.
That’s why I’m excited to share that I’ve joined Eliakim Capital as Managing Partner and Chief AI Officer. It’s an incredible opportunity to help shape how compute, power, and capital come together to build the next generation of AI infrastructure.
And yes, I’m still serving as CIO at Data Power Supply, where we’re powering the real-world systems that make AI possible. There’s no conflict here—just collaboration. Everyone involved understands the vision, and that speaks to how business itself is evolving.
We’re entering an era where intelligence is portable—where your expertise, amplified by AI, can operate across layers without friction. The old boundaries between roles, companies, and even industries are starting to blur, and that’s not chaos—it’s evolution.
Think about it: Apple pays Google billions to be the default search engine in Safari, and soon they’ll pay them billions more to have Gemini power Siri 2.0. Competitors one moment, collaborators the next. That’s the world we’re stepping into: one where alignment matters more than ownership, and value moves freely through shared intelligence.
Joining Eliakim means working alongside a team that’s as humbling as it is impressive—leaders from capital markets, national security, governance, global development, and technical strategy. People who’ve spent their careers solving big, messy, meaningful problems. The collective experience here is staggering, and I’m genuinely honored to be among them.
Their approach—rooted in stewardship, clarity, and trust—aligns perfectly with how I’ve always tried to operate: build things that last, and make sure they make sense.
So no, this isn’t me doing too much. It’s just the next logical step in a world where technology lets us scale our own intelligence as easily as our infrastructure.
richwashburn.com remains my home base. It’s where I write, teach, and share what I’m learning as this all unfolds—because AI doesn’t replace curiosity; it multiplies it.
Three hats. One ecosystem. Balanced (mostly) by caffeine and AI.
