If those inefficiencies are external to my process, the cost of absorbing them will not fall on me. The Efficiency Recovery Fee covers the additional effort required to maintain the same level of quality and execution when external variables disrupt the streamlined flow of work. This includes: Time spent reworking or clarifying avoidable issues Additional rounds of communication or revisions Delays caused by disorganization or lack of preparedness Any other friction that adds cost without adding value I don’t charge this lightly. But when it becomes necessary, it ensures fairness—and reinforces a shared commitment to working smart, staying aligned, and protecting both of our time.
